O.U.U.F. SUNDAY SCHOOL
As you consider your involvement in
the fellowship this coming year, here
is a plug for being a shining light
of learning and wisdom for our youth!
We hold five age-groups of classes
for the RE program. Preschool and up
to middle school. The classes start
in the beginning of September after
Labor Day and end in May. Approxi-
mately 25 classes. We need teachers.
We welcome non-parents and new
parents. More volunteers means less
work for each of us!!
For instance, Kerry and Kim alter-
nated days this year. That takes some
cooperative planning prior to the
class, but they will teach approxi-
mately 12-1/2 classes each... Imagine
if that were divided three ways!! The
RE committee will help select curric-
ula and, if needed, create a working
schedule for instructors.
Interested, even a tiny wee bit?
Please call Susan Egan or
email .

BEYOND "JOURNEY TOWARD WHOLENESS"
morning service 10:45 am - noon
Natalie Isvarin-Love
"Journey Toward Wholeness" is a
major UUA initiative, working to
address racism in our denomination
and in society. After a liberal the-
ology class at Meadville/Lombard I
have been challenged to examine this
program in a profound way. Yes, rac-
ism must be dealt with but we need to
realize we're all victims of the rac-
ialization process and work together
towards wholeness. All are welcome.
RACE AND PARTICIPATION IN
OBERLIN ORGANIZATIONS
fellowship forum 9:30 - 10:30 am
Oberlin Race Relations Committee
The RRC is pleased to be invited to
join OUUF for a combined Forum.
Presenters will include Diana G Kahn,
George Abram and Marian Baum, who
will share RRC's brief history and
some findings of the RRC Survey
Report last spring on Race and Parti-
cipation in Oberlin Organizations.
RRC is forming a group which can
discuss the issues forthrightly, so
we can define the problems and gener-
ate some solutions. RRC intends to
meet with many organizations this
spring to gain their ideas and input
into defining the problems and brain-
storming solutions. Presenters look
forward to learning from and sharing
with OUUF. All are welcome.
KENDAL SERVICES

4:15 pm. Heretic's Faith: Vocabulary

THE POWER OF MUSIC
morning service 10:45 am - noon
Liberated UU Voices (LUUV)
Music plays a key role in the lives
of all living things. The natural
order of the world has been thought
to conform to certain musical
proportions and evidence of this is
seen throughout human and plant life.
In this service we will explore
music's power to transcend the notes
on the page and influence growth in
nature, both physically and spiritu-
ally. LUUV, the College UU student
organization, will be joined by
students in the Conservatory for your
listening enjoyment. All are welcome.
MAKING A KILLING WITH NICOTINE
fellowship forum 9:30 - 10:30 am
Lori Flood, Discussion Leader
Join us for a preview of "Making a
Killing", a new documentary video
from award-winning filmmakers Kelly
Anderson and Tamil Gold, exposing the
tobacco industry's impact on public
health issues across the globe. An
opportunity to share reactions, view
an example of corporate intent, dis-
cuss difficulties of personal impact,
and explore misunderstandings of how
people's health behavior is affected
and how health behavior change oc-
curs. The Sunday School middle school
class will join the Forum. Lori is
Health Promotion Coordinator at the
Wellness Center of Oberlin College, a
part of Student Health Services.
All are welcome.
