Sunday Service

April 28, 2019 @ 6:30 am - 7:30 am

 Lisette Burwasser, L.D. Moore
The theme for this service has been adopted from the January BLUU BOX. The service will introduce
Rev. Lewis Allen McGee and Marcella Walker McGee, as a part of the mission of the BLUU BOX
program to deepen our knowledge of past and present Black Prominent Black UUs that have shaped and informed our living faith tradition. In 1947, Rev. McGee helped found the Free Religious Fellowship, a predominantly African America, multiracial congregation on the southside of Chicago. One of his sermons we found in the archives of the Meadville Lombard Theological School will be featured in the service. Marcella McGee chaired the UUWF’s first continent-wide Leadership Conference. In 1994 she received the Clara Barton Award from the American Red Cross.
