Worship Team

The Worship Team is open to members and friends of OUUF to help create transformative, uplifting services for body, heart, mind and spirit.

We center services on Unitarian Universalist principles and monthly themes from Soul Matters. Below is a list of themes for each month for the 2024-2025 year:

Worship retreats are held in January and June to reflect together on the worship needs of the congregation(s) and to evolve a plan for services.

Membership Team

The Mission of the OUUF Membership Committee is to strengthen the membership of the Fellowship by welcoming prospective members, overseeing the path to membership, fostering a welcoming culture, and making our presence visible in the greater community.

Social Justice Committee

The SJC has two ongoing projects, one of environmental concern and the other on being a Welcoming Congregation for marginalized citizens.

Our environmental program, Green Sanctuary, seeks to educate congregants on specific steps that can be taken to reduce waste, increase energy efficiency, and how OUUF can connect with the greater community on environmental issues.

Our Welcoming Congregation program has focused significantly on welcoming the LGBTQ+ community but is also encompassing immigration concerns and issues arising from the Black Lives Matter movement. Recently we began a Fellowship wide letter writing campaign to protest the Public Charge Rule Changes that affect legal immigrants from obtaining public assistance to encourage a path to citizenship. You need not be a member to come to an SJC meeting or to come to our new Study/Action Group. We welcome you whoever you are, whoever you love, whatever you believe, wherever you are from, and wherever you are going.

Adult Program Team

The Adult Program Team (APT) supports spiritual growth and ethical engagement within the congregation and in the larger community, by offering programs that engage body, heart, mind and spirit, responding to the needs of our times.

Doing the Covid-19 pandemic, Oberlin UU APT is working with the Olmsted UU APT, zooming our programs together to members and friends of both congregations.

The team is welcome to all who would like to help assess, plan, present and learn from our programs. The APT teams meet on Zoom every 4th Thursday, 7-8 p.m.
